Tumblr RPG Theme: Live Preview | Code
A theme just for RPGs! Lots of space for links, character lists and other info. A larger focus on the description and side area than in normal themes. Multiple tabs lead to different sections of the homepage, like an application form, a list or rules, or an FAQ list.
- Multiple tabs
- And you can add more tabs, instructions are in the HTML
- An application tab with description and submit form
- An ask tab with FAQ
- A tab just for your list of characters, with the ability to link to their blogs, and separate the list into categories
- 250px, 400px, 500px and 700px posts
- And you can switch which side the posts sit on
Works on the latest versions of all major browsers. If you want to adapt this to something other than an RPG homepage, be my guest.
Silence in the Library v.2.0: Live Preview | Code
An old favourite improved. This was always a style-over-functionality type of theme, but I’ve added several new features which improve functionality, as well as improving appearance. It’s done in about half as many lines of code, too.
Features:
- Posts arranged as books on a shelf. They popup with a preview when hovered over.
- Permalink pages displayed as open books.
- Photos and Photosets expand on hover (on Permalink pages).
- NEW: Ask and Submit open in popup windows for easy use.
- NEW: About twice as many customise options as before. Ability to style text in books and popup windows.
- NEW: Styled audio posts.
- NEW: Ability to add an FAQ.
- NEW: Hidden scrollbars when using Chrome or Safari. The theme still functions perfectly on other major browsers (I’ve tested on IE and Firefox too), but with the default scrollbars it looks a little clunky.
UPDATES - version 2.1
- Fixed the issue of the disappearing dashboard/follow buttons
- Made my credit link more discrete
- Made the popup ask and submit boxes optional
- Tweaked the askbox to match the latest tumblr update
- A few other minor customise options added
Art Schedule Page: Preview & Code
Art is one of my hobbies and lately I’ve been trying to push myself to improve my skill. I encountered this chart and made an html version for my personal use. Now I am giving away the code to anyone else who wants to use it.
The paintings in the example don’t exactly fit the catagories, but they’re just there as an example. Click the ‘install’ link for the code and instructions on how to use it. Not too complicated I hope. If you have some knowledge of css, you have my permission to edit it. Just don’t remove the credit.
To my fellow artists out there, have fun! ♥
Xmas 2012: Live Preview | Code
Happy obligatory christmas theme! Single column, decorative sidebar of 3 christmas bobbles, and EVERY colour is customisable. Check out the full list of customise options here.
Daily Herald Theme: Live Preview | Code
I got a few requests for a simple Newspaper theme, after I made my Daily Prophet theme. This theme is fairly simplistic, just a few customise options which you can check here. Single column with a sidebar and header. Works on all major browsers.
Companion Cube Redirect Theme: Live Preview | Code
Moved url? Be a sadist and make visitors burn the lovable weighted companion cube in order to move on to your blog.
- Create a new blog alongside your current one. Use the same url you had on your main blog before you changed it.
- Install this theme and look at the customise options to insert the url of your new blog. (How to install?)
- ????
- Profit
Works in Chrome and Safari. A few issues in Firefox, but it still redirects just fine. IE offers a popup to redirect users instead.
The Blog of Molly Hooper: Live Preview | Code
After making themes for Sherlock and John, apparently Molly had to be included. You guys better adore me for this, because I almost went blind looking at the excessive pink and flowers and hearts and kittens and *gags* comic sans. It’s perfect for anyone running a Molly Hooper roleplay blog. Works perfectly on the latest versions of all major browsers. Check the live preview for customise options.
Of course, I take no credit for the design, given that it’s based on the official BBC blog. However I do take full credit for the reconstruction and translation into a tumblr theme.

The Science of Deduction: Live Preview | Code
Companion to the John Watson theme. Made to look almost exactly like the official Sherlock Holmes blog from the BBC Sherlock mini-series. It is not perfectly identical because I had to create all the images from scratch in photoshop. The blog creators made it impossible to pull the original images from the site (yeah yeah, copyright), so this theme has the closest I could manage.
Features:
- Can replace the header image.
- I have provided a photoshop file of the header with the grunge textures in it if you wish to play around with it and change the text. [link]
- You can edit the title and url of the tabs.
- Add extra titles to the sidebar by just copying the code provided in the description of the live preview.
- Compatible with all major browsers.
I used two sets of Grunge brushes to create the textures. Credit for those goes to szuia and ~KeReN-R of Deviantart. The London Skyline image came from here.
Avengers Theme: Live Preview | Code
This theme was created specifically for theme-challenge’s May challenge. The prompt was to create a theme inspired by a summer film (northern hemisphere, obviously). I didn’t win anything, but that’s okay. I’m posting it now for my followers to use if they like.
Features:
- Big heading with title, description and links
- Single column
- Wide layout
- Hover effects
- custom font and title
- Works on all major browsers
I recommend setting your page to display 6 or 12 posts per page, because this theme cycles through 6 different looks. This theme won’t work on lower versions of IE, but it works on the latest version and anyone who doesn’t have at least that doesn’t deserve to be catered to :P
Dark Beauty Theme v3: Live Preview | Code
This was the first theme I ever released, and naturally I’ve gotten a lot better at theme-making since then so I fixed up a bunch of stuff and am re-releasing it.
Features:
- Single column
- Custom colours + white
- Fixed sidebar
- You can now switch which side the sidebar is on.
- Upload your own sidebar image (it will automatically resize to fit).
- Works in all major browsers.
Daily Prophet Theme: Live Preview | Code
This theme was a request by hogwarts-the-dark-musical. Hopefully I did a decent job. I had a challenge in trying to get some of the eccentric wizarding-world feel, while keeping everything legible. This is the result. Enjoy!
Features:
- 2-4 columns, auto-fits to the size of the page.
- Customisable background image, and colour if you remove the image.
- Tickbox to switch the position of the description and links.
- Tickbox to show/hide the RSS and Archive links.
- The ability to change the title size.
- Works on all major browsers.
Kuroshitsuji Theme: Live Preview | Code
This one was a request from a friend. Basically she wanted me to make a theme that looks like this website. I’ve added a bunch of customise options in, for anyone who doesn’t want to stick to the default images and colours.
Features:
- Big header with links, image and description
- Masonry-style layout
- Custom background
- Custom main image. I recommend uploading a square image, or it will get stretched.
- Aside from the black, most of the colours are customisable.
- Tested on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.
As a side note, this is the first time I’ve used that masonry script. I’m pretty pleased with the result.
Sherlock theme v.2: Live Preview | Code
This is an updated version of my Sherlock theme.
Existing Features:
- Popup navigation menu when you mouse over the smiley.
- Infinite scrolling.
- Simple layout using the same white text from the series.
- Static nav menu (so you don’t have to scroll back to the top to find it.)
- Custom font sizes and link-hover colour.
- Optional RSS and Archive links in the nav menu.
New Features:
- Time posted, notecount and tags now appear beside each post when the posts is hovered over instead of being permanently fixed beneath it.
- The navigation menu for the smiley face now runs on css alone, no javascript. It is also fixed in place this time so that it doesn’t overlap the main content.
- Custom links are no longer listed in the customise options as “link 1, url 1, link 2, url 2, etc…” With the Javascript no longer causing a problem with showing your regular page links, those are back and fully operational.
- There are also a few small improvements to the layout of the permalink pages.
Tricolour Theme: Live Preview | Code
Features:
- Infinite Scroll
- Static header with title and links
- Static description at the bottom of the page
- Permalink and tags appear on mouseover
- Customise options includes three basic colours and a tickbox to toggle between a black or white audioplayer.
(And it works just fine on Internet Explorer too, which is a bonus!)
