Update

My poor inbox got overloaded and a bunch of questions were buried and I may have deleted a few I should have replied to. If I haven’t answered you, please just send it in again. Also please read through this:

Science of Deduction background fixed

Photobucket says I demand too much from it, so I dumped Photobucket and started seeing a new host. Now my Science of Deduction theme has its background back and anyone who wants to fix it on their own blog can just re-install.

Xmas 2012: Live Preview | Code

Happy obligatory christmas theme! Single column, decorative sidebar of 3 christmas bobbles, and EVERY colour is customisable. Check out the full list of customise options here.

Just a reminder that this theme exists.

Welcome to my 380+ new followers over the past two days!

I never expected my Steampunk theme to be such a hit!

For a while I have been considering accepting paid commissions for themes, and the success of my latest theme has given me the kick to go ahead with it. If you’re interested, click here.

In the meantime I am still working on free themes. My next one is based on Star Trek (TNG/DS9/VOY), and I’m still open to suggestions.

Steampunk Theme: Live Preview | Code

The most complicated theme I have ever made. Based on the Steampunk aesthetic, this theme is full of moving parts and detail galore. The only downside is it may take a while for the page to load the first time you view it, but it’s totally worth it.

Features:

A lot of images have been used to make this theme, from all over the internet. Take time to check out the page where I have credited them all.

Calligraphy Redirect Theme: Live Preview | Code

A simplistic redirect theme with a twist: It redirects to specific posts. Great for people who offer tutorials, make helpful lists and so on.

For example…
youroldusername.tumblr.com/post/31415926535
…goes to…
yournewusername.tumblr.com/post/
31415926535

Works on all major browsers.

I am no longer offering coding help

I’m just not that active on this blog anymore, and yet somehow I’m getting more and more requests for help by the day. I’m drowning in them.

I will still help out with questions about my own themes, take requests and such.

Sorry to anyone who has left a request for coding help in my inbox, but I am clearing your questions out and only answering the ones relevant to my own themes.

Update

Some of my themes have been working on and off since I moved to photobucket. If you have one of my themes and find that you get the photobucket error message, just reinstall the theme and it should fix that all up.

Tumblr RPG Theme: Live Preview | Code

A theme just for RPGs! Lots of space for links, character lists and other info. A larger focus on the description and side area than in normal themes. Multiple tabs lead to different sections of the homepage, like an application form, a list or rules, or an FAQ list.

Works on the latest versions of all major browsers. If you want to adapt this to something other than an RPG homepage, be my guest.

Updates

A few of my themes were taken down because of bad image links. I suspect I ran out of storage space or bandwidth or something with my imagehost because I’m cheap and didn’t want a paying account. Now I’ve moved my image files to Photobucket and hopefully that fixes things.

Fixed themes:

Eventually I will move all my themes over to Photobucket. For now I have only moved my Science of Deduction Theme over (in addition to the others) because the background was working for some people but not others. Hopefully that fixes the problem for the few who couldn’t see the background.

Silence in the Library v.2.0: Live Preview | Code

An old favourite improved. This was always a style-over-functionality type of theme, but I’ve added several new features which improve functionality, as well as improving appearance. It’s done in about half as many lines of code, too.

Features:

  • Posts arranged as books on a shelf. They popup with a preview when hovered over.
  • Permalink pages displayed as open books.
  • Photos and Photosets expand on hover (on Permalink pages).
  • NEW: Ask and Submit open in popup windows for easy use.
  • NEW: About twice as many customise options as before. Ability to style text in books and popup windows.
  • NEW: Styled audio posts.
  • NEW: Ability to add an FAQ.
  • NEW: Hidden scrollbars when using Chrome or Safari. The theme still functions perfectly on other major browsers (I’ve tested on IE and Firefox too), but with the default scrollbars it looks a little clunky.

UPDATES - version 2.1

This blog is officially a year old today.

Happy 1st birthday, blog!

Art Schedule Page: Preview & Code

Art is one of my hobbies and lately I’ve been trying to push myself to improve my skill. I encountered this chart and made an html version for my personal use. Now I am giving away the code to anyone else who wants to use it.

The paintings in the example don’t exactly fit the catagories, but they’re just there as an example. Click the ‘install’ link for the code and instructions on how to use it. Not too complicated I hope. If you have some knowledge of css, you have my permission to edit it. Just don’t remove the credit.

To my fellow artists out there, have fun! ♥

Tags with question marks

This is not an issue with any of my themes, but there are some themes that do have this issue, some of which come from theme-makers who are no longer answering questions, so I am answering it for you.

The Issue
When you click on a tag link, such as the typical “what is air?” with a question mark on the end, tumblr tells you that the url cannot be found.

Why does this happen?
There cannot be question marks in a url. If your url looks like this: “/tagged/what-is-air?”, then you will get an error. It ought to look like this: “/tagged/what-is-air%3F”.

How do I fix it?
Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to fix. Run a search through your html code until you find “{Tag}”. It should look something like this:

{block:Tags} <a href="/tagged/{Tag}">#{Tag}</a> {/block:Tags}

Edit the bit in quotation marks to look like this:

{block:Tags} <a href="{TagURL}">#{Tag}</a> {/block:Tags}

Fixed!
If you have any further problems, feel free to ask me for help.
